“Fetching” in Process

Posted by mtmom on December 20, 2009

I’m making a change to this iconic pattern from knitty.  I didn’t like how the picot bind-off made the top flare. . .

Before: off the needles .

Before: back of handBefore: side view.

. . . so I undid the Bo and bound off just in purl.  (Isn’t it great when you can make it do what you want?! — at least, mostly.)

After: off the needlesAfter: palm After: side view I also redid the BO on the thumb (after this photo), and am about halfway through knitting the second — about 3 rounds until thumb trick!

The yarn has arrived for summer Cast On project, so my next post will likely talk about that.  Ever heard of “1/2 N 1/2”?  ( I hadn’t — this’ll be a new experience! )

If I don’t talk to you again before Friday:

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

The mitts look nice and warm, smart idea to use the cables to bring in the wrists. My pup needs alot of attention as he has an infection, so I haven’t been blogging much, be back soon. Toodles

I also did this mitts, its a very popular pattern in ravelry. I didn´t like the picot bind-off and I made a very similar finish like you 😀
